Remember when music wasn’t afraid to take risks?
From the 60s through the 80s, songs weren’t just written—they were crafted. Layered, dramatic, occasionally over-the-top, and yes… sometimes even a little pretentious (okay, more than a little—but in the best possible way). Ten-minute epics, odd time signatures, and album covers that made you ask, “Wait… what am I looking at?”
You still hear those songs today because they earned their place. And while many of the original artists continue to perform—now in more intimate settings—the spirit of that era is far from gone.
In fact, progressive rock has seen a resurgence in recent years, proving there’s still a hunger for music that challenges, surprises, and occasionally makes you Google what time signature you’re actually clapping to.
Goats On The Beach embraces all of it—the brilliance, the theatrics, the experimentation… even the glorious excess.
We’re inspired by a time when music was bold, playful, cinematic, and unapologetically creative—when a song could be fun, complex, weird, and beautiful all at once (and sometimes all before the first chorus).
Our mission is simple: bring that energy back – for the fans who lived it—and for those discovering it for the first time.
No capes required… but they are definitely encouraged.
